Demon King, baseball fanatic, and pacifist Yuri Shibuya was born in Memorial hospital in Tokyo, Japan. An avid lover of peace named for his birth month of July, Yuri was born to Miko (mother) and Shoma (father) Shibuya. Yuri spent most of his younger years being dressed up by Miko and later playing his favorite sport baseball. During his middle school years Yuri found it hard to find the time to devote to his favorite sport but never gave up his passion for playing catcher.

During his last year of Middle School 15 year old Yuri discovers through the intervention of some bullies that he is fated to be the Demon king of another world. Although he refuses the kingdom at first Yuri discovers that in order to help the people of this land he must become the king and secure peace through any means possible. Yuri often helpless in the face of danger is often rescued by his attendants in the nick of time. In his search for peace Yuri's competitive nature frequently gets him into trouble but his sense of justice often helps him right out of it again. When Yuri's sense of justice is disturbed he transforms into an adult version of himself known as the Demon king.

Yuri becomes the Demon king whenever an injustice is committed and/or when in a situation that cannot be solved by any other means. In his Demon king form Yuri's hair becomes longer as well as his face becoming that of an adult. His magical powers are often displayed in these times and generally can be used even outside of his kingdom (It is rare for Demons to be able to use magic when not within their homelands or near elemental magic that is associated with them.). Although the Demon kings magic is associated mainly with the water element he is able to use whichever element is at hand when needed. Usually the transformation to Demon king and the use of magic's exhaust Yuri to the point where he passes out and cannot be revived for several days.

Despite being called back and forth to the two worlds Yuri remains devoted to the peace of his kingdom and to playing his beloved baseball.
